(After waking up in the middle of the night with projectile vomit?!) Face and I were up early on Sunday morning and went on a search for croissants but couldn’t find any!! Walked down to the harbour beside Grace’s apartment and watched a few guys body board in some pretty mental waves, was such a nice day. When Grace and Shaggy surfaced we all headed out for brekkie/lunch then went to Giant’s Causeway, the wind was mental had long walk before we fed our faces on ice-cream. Went into Portrush for a walk along the beach before we headed home. Face and I finished off the day with a meal in McHughs Bar in Belfast. We weren’t too impressed with the food but then again we ordered Pheasant (didn’t taste too pleasant in my opinion!)
As I said the work was very busy. I had to shoot video in the morning, and then edit 3 videos together the same evening. I was using the lens adaptor on my camera on Saturday so I was quite tired at the end of the day from carrying the equipment. I took the adapter off my camera for Sundays racing so things were a bit easier.
The racing was amazing with the top motoX riders from around the world competing. It was hard to enjoy everything fully though because things were so busy. I was mostly going back and forth from the track to the media centre. I worked 7am to 2am on Saturday, and 7am to 4am on Sunday! Just catching up with some sleep now on Monday.
How amazing is the weather at the mo? I am totally loving it. We headed up to Newcastle for a BBQ with my parents and some of their friends on fri night and after too many sausages Face and I headed out on our bikes in Tollymore Forest Park. Apart from me being a freak (as usual) I totally loved it once I got going on the trails. The hills weren’t to easy to climb though but I managed and felt great after!
Saturday we moved Face back into his orifice and I managed to break a window while I was trying to clean it it just fell out and over my head.. not good! Went to Nandos for some food (i’m totally addicted, and they have got the best hand-dryers ever, weird I know but you’ll understand if you check them out) then hit the Ormeau bmx track where Face was trying to teach me how to pump around the track. We were there for 3 hours, and I still hadn’t mastered it, hoping to hit it again soon to get it right!
Went to see Batman on Sat night, was so good. I didn’t realise at first it was Heath Ledger that was playing the Joker, his acting is amazing. Managed to see Wall-E earlier this week too. I loved it, a lot of the film was told without words, but just kept you glued to the screen the whole time. Can’t imagine seeing another two better films in the same week. Everyone is talking about Mama Mia, just not sure its my thing, and am sure it wouldn’t be Face’s!!
Headed up coast on Sun, Face has the details below, was another cool day chilling out in the sun, the coast was packed.
We were out on the bikes tonight with Grace and Shaggy. Went along the tow path from Shaws bridge to Lisburn and back. It seems so much quicker than I thought to get to Lisburn. Was nice wee ride. Im sleepy now, gonna hit bed. Nights.
Shaggy found a sweet fishing spot just round the corner from Graces apartment and he caught a massive eel. It was really heavy and took a while to get it back in the water.
Later on we went for a chilled out walk on the beach and took some shots. I kinda wish i had brought my surfing stuff as the surf was not as bad as it was in the surf report.
Finding it hard to remember what we got up to the past week! My brain isn’t working for some reason. Am pretty tired, we just got back from a Sony event in Dublin at the Radisson SAS Royal, was pretty useful for Face for his up and coming video/film career, and I enjoyed the free cookies.
Just remembering, for a change (not) we spent the weekend up the coast. Portrush Saturday, and Donegal with the bikes on sunday. Had a ride around Carrigart, the scenery was amazing although someone had got knocked down, she didn’t look too good but was still able to communicate, hopefully she was ok. Went to check out a wind farm on the way home, the turbines are massive, was cool to see them so close up.
I am doing trampolining coaching for the summer scheme for 6 weeks as well as my work in the Royal. I cycled to the leisure centre yesterday morning then across town to Face’s last night. After dinner he took me out for two hours training around Shaw’s Bridge and Lagan Tow path. I was totally wrecked by the end of it, didn’t realise how unfit i am. I thought I wouldn’t be too bad considering Face hasn’t done much in months with his broken egg but no, I am seriously unfit. Going out tomorrow night again, if i keep it up I should be fit in no time!
Heading to Cahir on Friday for the Downhill mtb Irish Champs!! Staying with Rosco (the rider in the video below) and his family in a cottage they have hired out. Face is hoping to get some footage and put together another vid. Should be a good event can’t wait
!
Ive been a bit loaded with the cold this week but it apart from that its been pretty good. Spent Wednesday afternoon after work up Cavehill with Face as he was filming Rosco on his downhill mtb. Poor Rosco didn’t have a drink for like 5 hrs as they forgot to pack them but I reckon he’ll think it was worth it when he see’s the vid, hopefully Face will upload it here soon, looks really good! Finished off the day by making use of the Wednesday Orange 2 for 1 cinema deal and went to see Hancock. Was pretty funny! Thursday was the last night of my Trampolining classes for the summer, although not really geting a proper break as I’m taking a few sessions at the Summer Scheme this year.
Friday night we thought we better get out and enjoy the good weather as we knew the weekend was going to be bad. We went for a drive up the coast in Face’s little Smart Roadster which I ended up having to drive home as Face could not stay awake! Topped the night off with an Indian, think i went a bit wrong with the Tikka masala and perswiri naan, was all a little too sweet together but still managed to eat everything (I love my food)!
Didn’t do much on Saturday but yesterday we ended up heading up the coast (again) and ended up in the South of Ireland to escape the rain in Belfast! We had dinner in Moville in one of our favourite restaurants (Indian again)! Its small and cosy and feels really authentic and the food is seriously good. Went for a Madras this time, was funny we both were sweating, had red faces and spent most of the meal wiping our runny nostrils.. NICE!
I have just recently got a new HD video camera and have started testing. It seems pretty good so far. I’ve posted a video of a trip up the North Coast. Editing, grading and colour correction was done in Final Cut pro. Check it out…http://www.vimeo.com/1209673
Sunday we headed up the coast stopping off to check out random places and to take some shots. We grabbed some Chicken Burgers and Chips for dinner in “A Flash in the Pan’ in Bushmills then made our way along the coast road home. Face practically feel asleep driving and I had to take over, though my driving probably was just as bad!
